Much Ado About Nothing
December 12, 2015 @ 14:30 - 17:30
We are nearing the end of the year and we have not yet celebrated “The Bard” in our “Redbourn through the Centuries project” focussing on the 16th century. But we have not forgotten William Shakespeare, who was born in 1564 and died in 1616. His plays tell us so much about life at that time but we do appreciate that some of you might find them hard going!
So we are putting matters right by screening a film adaptation of the romantic comedy, “Much Ado about Nothing” starring many well-known actors including Kenneth Brannagh, Richard Briers, Emma Thompson and Denzil Washington. It is a fast-moving, intricate tale of love and romantic combat set in the beautiful scenery of Tuscany and the music score is very good too.
The film will be shown on Saturday 12th December at 2.30 pm in the afternoon in Redbourn Parish Centre. Tickets will be available on the door, costing £8 (concessions £7 for Friends of the Museum) including refreshments served during the interval and following the film. Unlike the playhouses of the 1500s, you will each have a seat and you will not be rained on
