High St. No.62

The original building has been replaced by the modern with a shop below and living accommodation, part of Forge Place above. The old building ( photo c.1914) appears to have fitted in with the age of others in this part of the High Street and was probably a timber framed cottage later ( in the 19th century) given a new frontage. The old building survived the Second World War but was behind high fencing for many years until it was redeveloped in 1980’s.
